My idea to improve this place
Mixed Uses Facilities within walking distance of Epping centre
So that people could...
Most liveable towns have everything in walking distance from the Town Centres. Having mixed user facilities (parks, sports facilities, shops, entertainment) in easy walking distance (e.g. walkability scores) of Epping station encourages sustainable and healthier methods of transport (e.g. cycling, walking) that do not pollute the environment (e.g. noise pollution, carbon emissions) and thus improve liveability standards. This is in contrast with urban sprawl and centralising of facilities which causes unnecessary car use and traffic congestion. (e.g. if residential is one corner of the suburb, and sports facilities is grouped in the other corner, then everyone would drive instead of walk). In sustainable towns, especially in Europe: using a car is an option, and public transport, walking and biking are encouraged and widely accepted. In Denmark, there are more bikes than cars because of good urban design and planning.
Because I want Epping to be...
